Plastic optical fiber (POF) (or Polymer optical fibre) is an optical fiber that is made out of polymer.POF has been called the "consumer" optical fiber because the fiber and associated optical links, connectors, and installation are all inexpensive

Side light POF 
The luminance of side-light fiber is 2-3 times of end-light fiber. It transmits visible light, does not transmit ultraviolet light and infrared rays; it is non-conductive and does not transfer heat; the surface of the optical fiber is smooth,transparent, flexible, and can be bent at will.
